Swooshes, Swirls and Seastacks

Caught some nice water action and sky on my first visit to Rodeo Beach...can't wait to get back when I have a bit more time to spend. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments. *My apologies to those of you who may have already seen this one, decided to repost as 500px was down most of the day yesterday?

Valley Morning

Another (wider & earlier) image from my Yosemite series. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Sunrise at Second Beach

Here is another sunrise variation taken on a gorgeous morning run to Second Beach a few months back...I really liked the reflections and water movement in this one! Thank you for viewing, voting andor any constructive comments!

T. V. Winter

This is a replacement for a similar image that I posted a few months back. Shortly after posting that first file I reailzed that it was out of focus! Anyway, I really liked the light and cloud mix in this classic sunset winter Tunnel Vew. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Tahoma

Tahoma is one of the original Native American names for Mt. Rainier. This is another shot from Lake Tipsoo on the Sunrise side of the mountain just as the sun was begining to rise. As you can see we were treated to one spectacular show! Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Magic Morning

This is a sunrise shot of Palouse Falls. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Sunset at Haystack

Sunset shot from our roadtrip to Cannon Beach, Oregon last week! Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Drizzle, Drazzle, Dradle, Drone

This was our last sunset attempt at Bandon, Oregon coast (Wizard's Hat) on our most recent road trip. Though things didn't look too promising at first (looked like nothing but bald sky), the wind shifted dramatically and we were able to snap a few frames as the fast moving clouds rolled in. The title is in reference to the old (1970's) cartoon featuring "Mr. Wizard" . This scene/rock at Bandon looks very much like the Wizard's hat that he wore. Mr Wizard's most most famous line in the show was "Drizzle, Drazzle, Dradle, Drone time for this one to come home". Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Rising and Receding

This image is from our recent road trip to the Olympic Peninsula and Second Beach located along the coast in Washington State. The early rising sun and receding mid-tide created great opportunities for unique tide pool compositions. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Moonlit Twilight

This image is from a roadtrip to the Oregon Coast earlier in the week. The view is from Ecola State Park looking south along the Oregon coastline and the Pacific Ocean at high tide just prior to sunrise! The lights in the distance are from the town of Cannon Beach, Oregon and if you look closely you can also see fog shrouded Haystack Rock just off shore! Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Tunnel Surge

Great sunrise light, some amazing wave action at low tide and a little daring (or just plain lack of common sense) all combined to allow for some unique shooting at the hole-in-the wall on Face Rock Wayside beach near Bandon, Oregon last week! Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Ecola Point Sunrise

This is a twilight/sunrise shot taken fron Ecola State Park on the West Coast of Oregon near the town of Cannon Beach. We lucked out with this amazing waffle cloud formation, off in the distance you can see iconic Haystack Rock and The Needles shrouded in a layer of early morning fog. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Forest Tumbler

Early spring in the amazing Sol Duc Valley region of the Olympic National Park in Washington State. This tumbling little waterfall stream and lush green forest moss were hard to resist! Thank you for viewing, voting and / or any constructive comments!

Big Dipper over Mount Hood

Please view on Black! This image was taken at around midnight on a trip to Lake Trillium with my friends Jeremy and Tom . The nearly full moon was behind us lighting the shoreline on this gorgeous night. Look carefully at the top (and water reflection) of Mount Hood and you will see the star Marek along with the six other stars that make up the Big Dipper. The lights in the tree line of the mountain are from the Mount Hood Ski Resort. Thank you to everyone that took a moment to view, vote and/or leave constructive comments regarding my work!

Wind River Wonder

This beauty is named Falls Creek Falls, located in the Wind River drainage area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. There are actually three tiers to this falls but unfortunately it appears impossible to get all three in one shot. This view is of the lower and middle tiers (if you look very carefully you can see just a tiny portion of the upper tier). You may want to view this on a black background! Thank you for taking a moment to view, vote and/or leave constructive comments regarding my work!

Lower Lewis

At Lower Lewis Falls the water cascades over about a 40 ft. drop that pretty much spans the width of the river. I waded out into the river to get a shot of this graceful beauty! I'm guessing your going to want to view this on a Black background. Thank you to everyone for taking a moment to view, vote and/or leave constructive comments!

Mount Rainier Sunrise Reflection

Mount Rainier Sunrise Reflection

Lone Beacon

As the sun dropped below the horizon an incoming storm created some very dramatic mackerel clouds and light in the sky above the coastline near Florence, Oregon. Off in the distance you can clearly see the light emitted by the Heceta Head Lighthouse. The light beam can be seen for approximately 21 nautical miles making it the strongest light on the Oregon Coast. You may want to view this on a black background! Thank you to everyone for stopping by to view, vote and or leave constructive comments!

Columbia River Gorge Sunset

This shot was taken from the Women's Forum Park, located in the Columbia River Gorge area in the state of Oregon. This iconic view of Crown Point, Vista House is looking to the east down the mighty Cloumbia River. Even though it is a favorite location for many photographers to shoot from I thought we caught some pretty spectacular clouds and light as the sun was setting on this particular evening! You may want to view this on a black background! Thank you to everyone who took a moment to stop by and view, vote and or leave constructive comments!

False Creek Blue Hour

This view is from False Creek a short inlet located in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia seperating downtown Vancouver from the rest of the city. Thank you for viewing, voting and/or any constructive comments!

Dancing Redhead

This male redhead duck was putting on quite a show in his attempt to attract a mate (he seemed to me to be dancing?). Please don't fortget to press "H" then "M" to optimize your viewing!

Rolling Wheat Fields

This is a shot of the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse taken from the top of Steptoe Butte in Eastern Washington State. Thank you for viewing, voting and any constructive comments. Please don't forget to view on a black background for the best detail!

Pretty Boy

Male Wood Duck...this shot required a little time lying in the prone position out in the cold. I was rewarded for my efforts though when he momentarily floated out into what I thought was some nearly perfect lighting and I had the good sense to press the shutter. Thank you for stopping by to view, vote and/or leave constructive comments! You'll of course want to view this on a black background!

This is a natural light image of a female wood duck as she swam in a pond on a late afternoon.
